2026 Closing Ceremonies & Awards

Closing Ceremonies

We gathered together on March 21st at the Jackson Gore Round House to celebrate our student-athletes accomplishments and to graduate our 2026 senior class!

A Letter from Head of School

Dear Student-Athletes,

As hard to believe as it is, we are approaching the close of another winter season.  I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to celebrate all of your amazing accomplishments at our Closing Ceremonies on March 21st!

It is a deep belief in your potential that keeps us pushing you to forge ahead through the ups and downs, the good days and the not so good days.  It is an honor to witness you strive to reach your personal goals, to climb your own mountains.  May your perseverance as you climb to reach new heights, achieve goals, and overcome obstacles continue to inspire you and those around you. And though we spend most of our time focused on going down the mountain when we are training, remember that the effort you put in to “climb your mountain” each day, each week, each season, is what defines you and what will bring you the growth and success you seek.

You truly have had an incredible season of growth and success.   Across all three of our snow sport disciplines and in all of our alpine age groups, we have student-athletes who have, or will before the end of the season, compete at the highest levels within their discipline.  I am so proud of you for the dedication and determination that has brought you to this point.

Beyond athletics, your academic accomplishments are just as impressive.  You seek challenge and enjoy engaging one-on-one with your teachers while many of your peers would choose to hide in the back of a traditional classroom.  I am so proud of you all for how hard you work to balance your athletics and academics.

These accomplishments aside, I hope you all remember that success is relative and comes in different measurable amounts for each of us as we push to achieve our personal bests.  Keep pushing towards your goals and once you’ve achieved them, set new ones.  I am proud of you all for being hard-working, motivated individuals, each possessing a unique personality without which our community would not be complete.

And on that note, never forget the importance of a supportive community and be grateful for the one we have.  A huge thank you to Okemo Mountain Resort for being our home training hill and doing all that is needed behind the scenes to support that – mountain management, mountain operations, grooming, lifts, park staff.  We couldn’t do what we do without the resort community standing behind us. A shout out to our teachers working tirelessly to accommodate student-athletes’ crazy competition schedules and make sure that they still learn all they need to know and coaches working long hours in all conditions to support athletic growth and development.  Thank you to you, student-athletes, for supporting each other through all of the ups and downs.  Snow sports are TOUGH and though they are technically individual sports without having a strong team behind you, you won’t make it to the top.  You all are lucky to be able to BOTH have that support and provide that support to each other.  Please keep striving to always be the best teammate you can be!  And to our community of parents and families, you are the foundation – sacrificing so much for your children so they can pursue their dreams and being there for them through the ups and downs.

Again thank you to all of you – teachers, coaches, families, and student-athletes and to Okemo.  Please read on to learn about all of the awards that were given out at our 2026 Closing Ceremonies.

All the best,

Mariel
